Dissent: Is War the Right Thing?

Michael Moore’s radio diary from last night’s program challenged President Bush’s declaration of a “War on Terrorism.” Moore’s opinion that America must look at itself in the mirror before it starts a military campaign against terrorists led to a slew of emails and postings in our forum. Is America behind this new “war?” Alan Wolfe, Professor at Boston College, says dissent in wartime is nothing new in America. The challenge of Presidents throughout history has been to convince the country to accept that to win a war, there must be losses.
