The United States has become Public Enemy #1 in many parts of the Middle East. But this was not always the case. The U.S. was beloved for a long time because, unlike other Western powers, it did not seek to colonize the region. But all that has changed. American support of Israel, the Gulf War, and other foreign policy decisions have created several enemies in the region. Our panel examines how past actions in the Middle East may have led to Tuesday’s terrorist attack.
Guests:
Lawrence Pintak, former Middle East Correspondent based in Beirut in the 1980s;
Graham Allison, Special Advisor to the Secretary of Defense
