Teaching History as it Happens

In classrooms across the country, well-planned history curricula were shelved on September 11th as history moved from the realm of textbooks to television sets. Teachers are now faced with the challenge of teaching history while some of the most significant events in the American saga unfold every day. This hour, we examine how several schools are incorporating the events of September 11th into the classrooms. How can someone teach history as it is happening? What is the message that high school students should be given in lessons about the current crisis?
