Jimmy Breslin

For decades, Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist Jimmy Breslin has chronicled the daily life of the average Joe and used his pen to give voice to those forgotten. His new book tells the story of a 21-year old Mexican immigrant who came to this country hoping for a better life and left in a body bag.

Breslin details the search for the American dream with all its glory and despair and poses troubling questions about immigration policy and political corruption in America.

In a country that depends on cheap labor, how do we value the lives of our workers?

Guests:

Jimmy Breslin, Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist and author of “The Short Sweet Dream of Eduardo Gutierrez.” (Read Jimmy Breslin’s columns at Newsday, or buy “The Short Sweet Dream of Eduardo Gutierrez.” in the WBUR store.)
