DJ Logic

Despite his name, DJ logic considers himself a musician first, a DJ second.

DJ Logic (aka Jason Kibbler) grew up at the same time and in the same Bronx neighborhoods as hip-hop did, watching first-hand as people like Afrika Bambaata, Kool Herk, and Grandmaster Flash created a new form of music that became the last revolutionary cultural movement of the 20th century.

Over the last 15 years, DJ Logic has been taking the turntables out of the dance clubs and to the front of the band, from a machine that just played records to an instrument that performs its own music. His latest group Project Logic is a jazz funk improvisational band that incorporates Logic’s scratches and mixes with the grooves of bass, organ and drums.

Guests:

DJ Logic, Turntablist and creator of the band “Logic Project”
