The PLO Emissary and his Rabbi

They are among the oddest couple of friends you will ever meet. Michael Tarazi is an American citizen and an emissary for the Palestinian Liberation Organization. He was a former corporate lawyer who did not even realize he was Palestinian until he was age 15. Harvard-educated, he is now considered one of the most articulate Palestinian spokesmen in years.

Everett Gendler is a rabbi who mentored Michael at Phillips Academy. The two men love each other like family but disagree significantly over how to resolve the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians.

This hour, one of the Palestinians’ brightest hopes for peace and his life-long friend talk about solutions for peace and the bond that is deeper than politics.

Guests:

Michael Tarazi, legal and communications advisor for the PLO

Rabbi Everett Gendler, retired Jewish chaplain at Phillips Academy
