Political Satire
photo

Anyone who has ever tried to write humor has discovered the importance of having a target. Just read Mark Twain’s biting barbs on The Spanish American War and other hot-button issues of his day.

Political satire is as American as apple pie. And poking fun at serious things takes wit and wisdom. In this hour, some of the country’s best political satirists take on the world. Is there anything to laugh about these days? Is there a place for dissent in this post 9-11 world?

Guests:

Jimmy Tingle, satirist, former humorist and commentator with 60 Minutes, II, one man shows include “Mr. Tingle for President;” Jim Morris, political impressionist

Lauren Weedman, correspondent for “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.”
