It’s been a rapid-fire ten days of headlines in the al Qaeda front. Six Yemeni-Americans scooped up in a terror dragnet launched outside Buffalo. Mohammad Atta’s former Hamburg roommate, Ramzi bin al-Shibh, has been caught in Pakistan and charged with 3,000 counts of murder for his alleged role in the 9/11 attacks. Omar al Farouq, Kuwaiti al Qaeda kingpin, has been arrested in Indonesia. He cracked after three months of interrogation and told blood-chilling tales of terror plans for Southeast Asia. Twenty-one alleged terrorists have been arrested in Singapore.

“One by one, we are hunting the killers down,” said President Bush. “We are relentless, we are strong, and we are not going to stop.” But the week also brought tales before Congress of pre-9/11 failures. So who’s really winning the war with al Qaeda?
