Klezperanto
photo

The music of Klezperanto may have that klezmer sound, but this ain’t you’re grandmother’s klezmer music. The 6-piece band fuses the old school klezmer tradition with rock, jazz, funk, Latin sambas and cumbias, even surf music. Klezmer music made a comeback from almost non-existence in the 1970’s, now the next generation of Klezmer musicians are taking the Jewish roots music into uncharted territory with electric guitars, basses and drums. On the last night of Chanukah we bring you old world melodies, regrooved with out guests Klezperanto.

Guests:

Ilene Stahl, Bandleader and on Clarinet

Evan Harlan, Music Director and on Accordion

Brandon Seabrook, banjo and guitar

Josh Tower, Electric Bass

Mark Hamilton, trombone

Grant Smith, drums and percussion
