Law and Disorder

Add parish priests to the list of Catholics calling for Boston’s Cardinal Law to resign. Documents released last week show stunning new allegations of sexual abuse by priests and the apparent cover-up by the church. Also last week, the church revealed it is considering filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy as a way of dealing with hundreds of abuse lawsuits.

Can Cardinal Law lead without support of his own priests? In this hour, all sides of this red-hot debate speak out.

Guests:

Monica Brady-Myerov, covers the Catholic Church for WBUR

Eileen McNamara, columnist the Boston Globe

Rev. Robert Carr, Parochial Vicar, the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston

Scott Appleby, Cushwa Center for the Study of American Catholicism at the University of Notre Dame

Rev. Rob Bowers, parish priest
