Iraqis in America: Thoughts on the War
photo

For Iraqis who have fled the ruthless regime of Saddam Hussein, the images of the war may bring both relief and fear.

For Falah Al-Hamdani, a businessman who fled Iraq for Kuwait after the 1991 Gulf War and moved to the U.S. in 1993, the war is bringing joy and giving rise to hopes that the Iraqi people will finally be liberated from Saddam Hussein’s dictatorial grip.

Raed Al-Rawi, graphic artist and painter who left Iraq 20 years ago, has mixed feelings but is hopeful about the outcome of the war and the future of Iraq.

Click the “Listen” link above to hear more of what Iraqi citizens living in the U.S. are feeling about and hoping for as the U.S.-led war in Iraq continues.
