Musician Greg Greenway

The songs of American folk musicians have always told the stories of our country. They’ve been the eyes, ears, minds, hearts and conscience of the American experience. In the 1960s and 1970s musicians like Pete Seeger, Joni Mitchell, and Phil Ochs sang out defiantly against the Vietnam War.

Today, with less of a prevailing counter-culture in America, many folk musicians have chosen not to sing out directly against the current war in Iraq, but instead, include more reflective, thoughtful and personal songs into their repertoire.

American folk musician Greg Greenway is responding to the human emotion of the war in Iraq with music for American soldiers, music for the mothers of fighters on both sides of the war, and the orphaned Iraqi children. He has also written music that will maybe put a smile on people’s faces once again.
