Sifting Through the Rubble of Saddam’s Regime
Saddam Hussein and his power elite crumbled yesterday to U.S.-led troops in the former Iraqi dictator’s hometown of Tikrit. The overwhelming majority of Tikrit’s population of 35,000 were part of his elite pack, having held positions in the top ranks of nearly every sector of Iraqi government and society.
