As America makes plans for rebuilding Iraq, some U.S. officials are looking to an old source, American architect Frank Lloyd Wright. His 1957 “Plan for Greater Baghdad” was culturally sensitive, but never built.
In this radio diary, Dr. Mina Marefat, who uncovered Wright’s plans for a 1999 essay, talks about his architectural homage to the city of Baghdad.
Guests:
Mina Marefat, Rockefeller Scholar at the Library of Congress, contributor to “Frank Lloyd Wright: Europe and Beyond.”
