Powell’s Judgment Day
photo

A year ago today Secretary of State Colin Powell made the case to the U.N. Security Council that Iraq was an urgent threat. This week he said the absence of weapons stockpiles “changes the political calculus” about whether to go to war. A day later, in a message coordinated with the White House, he said, “the president made the right decision.”

Tonight, On Point, Colin Powell, the once powerful voice of reason, now banished to the White House sidelines.

Guests:

David Corn, Washington Editor of Nation magazine, author of “Lies of George W. Bush: Mastering the Politics of Deception

Ivo Daalder, Senior Fellow in Foreign Policy Studies at the Brookings Institution

Jack Beatty, On Point News Analyst
