Bush vs. Kerry Economic Plans

Bush and Kerry are both talking about the economy, about jobs, free trade and the deficit, and their strong track records. Bush wants to make his tax cuts permanent. Kerry wants to raise taxes on the “wealthy.” We look at their plans.

Jason Furman, advisor to the Kerry campaign on economic policy. He was the policy director for Wesley Clark’s Presidential campaign and previously served as Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy
in the Clinton Administration and as a senior economic adviser to Al Gore’s Presidential campaign. He has lectured in economics at Yale and Columbia.

David Henderson, research fellow at the Hoover Institution. He is also a professor of economics at the Naval Postgraduate School and author of “The Joy of Freedom: An Economist’s Odyssey. ” He was a senior economist in President Reagan’s Council of Economic Advisors.
