Celebrate the Seusscentennial
photo

Before the Grinch was an animated Hollywood feature or a Jim Carrey live-action movie, he was born in the imagination of Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known by his pen name of Dr. Seuss. Along with the Cat in the Hat, the Lorax, the Sneetches, Horton, Yertle the Turtle, and so many more, Seuss’s Grinch stole the hearts of children and parents across America.

With a keen ear for rhyme and a zany perfectionist’s approach to cartooning, Theodor Geisel revolutionized children’s literature, establishing Dr. Seuss as a household name in his time and in ours. His storytelling is cheerful anarchy, and his artwork, delightfully absurd.

Guests:

Charles Cohen, one of the world’s foremost collectors of all things Seuss and author of the new book, “The Seuss, the Whole Seuss, and Nothing But the Seuss: A Visual Biography of Theodor Seuss Geisel”

Peggy Charren, founder of Action for Children’s Television and a continuing advocate for children

Judith Morgan, long-time friend of the Geisel family, author of the authorized biography of Theodor Geisel, “Dr. Seuss and Mr. Geisel,” with her husband Neil Morgan.
