The bloody uprising in Haiti climaxed this weekend. Former President Jean-Bertrand Aristide is out — he says by force. The U.S. says he resigned. Either way, he left under intense pressure from the United States and from armed insurgents threatening to take over the capital. The U.S. and France have sent troops to restore order. Now Haiti must work toward a democracy.
