Paul Krugman and America’s Unraveling
photo

New York Times columnist and Princeton University economist Paul Krugman has grave concerns about the direction America is moving in. His specialty: lobbing grenades from the left.

The media, he says, fail to do the bare minimum of homework. Alan Greenspan has stepped far over the gray line that separates the Federal Reserve from the White House. Small, organized groups have too much sway over what gets done in Washington. And tax cuts and reckless government spending are bankrupting Social Security and our futures.

Last Thursday, On Point spoke with him at the John F. Kennedy library in Boston about politics, the economy and his new book, “The Great Unraveling: Losing Our Way in the New Century.”

Guests:

Paul Krugman, a biweekly columnist for the New York Times, professor of economics and international affairs at Princeton University and the author or editor of 20 books.
