The Rumsfeld Report
photo

Today, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld spent hours on Capitol Hill explaining himself to members of the Senate Armed Services Committee. The Senators wanted to know, among other things, why, when he briefed them just last week, he neglected to mention the CBS’s “60 Minutes” report that was to air that very night on the abuse of Iraqi prisoners by American soldiers.

Alternately feisty and contrite, Rumsfeld said it was not until he finally saw the actual, unedited pictures for himself last night that he realized the full extent of the abuse.

Click the “Listen” link to hear about the Rumsfeld report, what he knew, what he saw, and what he said.
