Former Diplomats Speak Out
photo

The American diplomatic community has spent over 50 years building complex relationships with both allies and the rest of the world.

Now, a group of former high level officials and military commanders, Diplomats and Military Commanders for Change, is warning that Bush’s foreign policy is undermining what has been accomplished. While not formally endorsing the Kerry campaign, the group insists that the present course by the Bush admnistration is counterproductive and is making the country less safe.

Click the “Listen” link to hear a conversation with the members of Diplomats and Military Commanders for Change on why they are calling on U.S. citizens to change leadership in the November elections.

Guests:

Avis Bohlen, Assistant Secretary of State for arms control, 1999-2002, and deputy assistant secretary of State for European affairs, 1989-1991

Charles Freeman, assistant secretary of Defense for international security affairs, 1993-94 and ambassador to Saudi Arabia, 1989-1992

Andrew Apostolou, director of research, Foundation for the Defense of Democracies
