
Answering a question today at a Town Hall meeting in Davenport, Iowa Vice President Dick Cheney said that same sex marriage is an issue that is best left up to the states.
It is the same position he took in the 2000 vice presidential debate with Joe Lieberman but it is one that puts him in opposition to President Bush who has called for a constitutional amendment defining marriage as a union between a man and a woman.
