
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez won a recall referendum Sunday with 58 percent of the vote. Opposition leaders initially challenged the results, claiming there was large-scale fraud. But this afternoon, a team of international observers led by former US president Jimmy Carter verified the results, saying they had found “no element of fraud.”
