The Republicans are clearly enjoying the spotlight this week. But the Democrats are here too, and they are taking careful notes.

The first line of the Kerry campaign’s defense is ten blocks from the RNC. The Democrats are manning a rapid-response “war room” filled with staffers making calls and blasting off press releases rebutting any Republican utterance they hear.
