Displaced in Darfur

In a rare media interview today, Sudan’s security chief told Reuters that rebels have been using villages in Darfur as bases for military operations. Attacks on villages by government planes and soldiers have driven 1.5 million Darfur residents from their homes.

Krista Ridley is Deputy Director of Policy for Oxfam America. She recently returned from a trip to Darfur. In this radio diary, she describes what she saw when she visited the makeshift refugee camps that are serving as homes to displaced residents of Darfur.
