Born in 1930 in Hungary, George Soros became an American citizen in 1961. He went on to become one of the world’s most successful hedge fund managers, earning billions in the process. Now George Soros is touring the country and using his considerable wealth to try and unseat George W. Bush.

Soros says that George Bush’s notion of a justifiable pre-emptive war has caused the U.S.’s public image in the world to fall very quickly, and that Bush is to blame.

Though a fierce opponent of the role big money plays in American politics, Soros is nonetheless using his financial clout by donating to 527s, the independent political action groups created from loopholes in the McCain-Feingold Campaign Reform Bill.
