Tonight, the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox play the seventh and deciding game of an epic American League Championship Series. For perennially-disappointed Red Sox fans, a Red Sox victory would be a huge step towards exorcising the dreaded “Curse of the Bambino.” Since the Sox traded Babe Ruth to their Bronx rivals 2 years after the Sox’s 1918 championship, the Yankees have won 26 World Series while the Sox have won none.

Lifelong Red Sox fan Bobby Quillard is confident this is the year the Red Sox curse will be broken. He even wrote and recorded a song, “The Curse is Gone,” which has been distributed over the Internet. In this radio diary, Quillard explains why 2004 will finally be the year for the Red Sox.
