Young Voter Roundtable
photo

Many young Americans will be casting their first-ever votes in the upcoming presidential election. They are most concerned about the economy and the situation in Iraq. They believe Kerry is the more qualified Commander-in-Chief but think that Bush takes clearer stands on the issues.

Almost 3 million American students will have volunteered on a presidential campaign this year. Politics, they say, is an important part of their lives.

Tune in to hear a conversation with four young voters about who they think should sit in the Oval Office in the next four years.

Guests:

David King, lecturer in public policy, Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, associate director of the Institute of Politics at Harvard and expert on youth attitudes about politics

Charles Mitchell, 21-year-old senior at Bucknell University, president of the Bucknell Conservatives Club and Vice Chairman of Young Conservatives of Pennsylvania

Andrew Dill, 21-year-old junior, University of Georgia, Chairman of the University of Georgia College Democrats

Renata Strause, 20-year-old senior at Oberlin College, co-chair of Oberlin’s College Democrats

A’shanti Fayshel Gholar, 23-year-old senior at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, vice president of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Democrats and president-elect of the Young Democrats of Nevada.
