
It had been rumored since before Election Day 2004 and now it is official that Attorney General John Ashcroft has resigned. In a five-page handwritten note to President Bush, Ashcroft said “The objective of securing the safety of Americans from crime and terror has been achieved.”
Commerce Secretary Don Evans also announced today he will leave as Bush’s Cabinet is reshuffled for the President’s second term.
