photo

In his 2002 state of the union speech, U.S. President Bush identified Iran as one of three countries that constituted what Bush termed an “axis of evil.”

Ken Pollack, a former CIA Persian Gulf military analyst and director of Gulf Affairs at the National Security Council from 1999 to 2001, has just published a book titled, “The Persian Puzzle: The Conflict Between Iran and America.”

Hear a conversation with Ken Pollack about the history of the United States’ relationship with Iran, the likelihood of Iran’s obtaining nuclear weapons in the future, and how the U.S. and Iran should interact in the 21st century.

Guests:

Ken Pollack, director of research, Saban Center for Middle East Policy, Brookings Institution.
