
Even as his approval ratings have headed north since the election, President Bush remains a target of scorn throughout large swaths of the country. One website being forwarded through emails features a game whose object is to drop brains inside the President’s hollow head. At the same time, Bill Clinton remains a favorite whipping boy on right-wing talk shows and websites, despite having been out of office for 4 years.
California writer Kathleen Clary Miller remembers a time when political leaders were afforded a little more respect in the national dialogue. In this radio diary, she wonders how the next generation will grow up viewing their elected officials.
