1) President Bush spends much of the week trying to mend fences with European allies.

2) Just hours ago, a Palestinian suicide bomber blows himself up in front of a Tel Aviv nightclub, violating the tenuous cease fire between Israel and the Palestinians.

3) Iraq’s leading Shiite Muslim coalition nominates Ibrahim al-Jaafari for prime minister.

4) The pope is hospitalized for the second time this month when he experiences difficulty breathing.

5) The World Health Organization warns that bird flu could become a global pandemic.

6) The process of identifying the remains of victims of the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center comes to an end.

7) And a week of heavy rains triggers hundreds of mudslides in Southern California. At least 9 people have been killed.
