Sizing Up the State of the Union
photo

Just 13 days after his inauguration, President George W. Bush will deliver his 2005 State of the Union Address. He is expected to lay out bold changes for social security, immigration, and more.

President Bush is riding high after Sunday’s election in Iraq. Still, his approval ratings are low and even some of his fellow Republicans aren’t sold on his plans for social security reform.

Hear columnist Arianna Huffington, the governor of Pennsylvania Edward Rendell, North Dakota Governor John Hoeven, John Fund of the Wall Street Journal, Thomas Frank, author of “What’s the Matter with Kansas,” and others give their assessment on how this country is really doing.

Guests:

Karen Tumulty, national political correspondent for Time magazine;
Governor Edward Rendell (D) Pennsylvania;
Governor John Hoeven (R) North Dakota;
John Fund, member of the Wall Street Journal editorial board;
Thomas Frank, author of “What’s the Matter with Kansas?”;
