The Valentine’s Day Poems of Dorothy Bridges
photo

Dorothy Bridges fell in love with actor Lloyd Bridges on the way home from a fraternity dance, with their first kiss in the “rumble” seat of a friend’s car. That was the beginning of a lifelong love and 62 years of marriage. They had three children: Lucinda, and actors Beau and Jeff Bridges.

Every year on Valentine’s Day Dorothy wrote her husband a love poem. Her husband passed away seven years ago. Now she’s 89 and has collected her poems in a short book, “You Caught Me Kissing, A Love Story by Dorothy Bridges.”

In this radio diary, Bridges talks about the many Valentine’s days she shared with her husband and reads some of the poems that she wrote to him.

Guests:

Dorothy Bridges lives in Beverly Hills, California.
