1) The Senate effectively clears the way for oil drilling in the Alaskan wildlife refuge.

2) Baseball stars Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa, and Commissioner Bud Selig are among the witnesses called to testify before a House Committee looking into steroid use in the major leagues.

3) The feeding tube is removed from Terri Shiavo, the Florida woman who has been in what doctors call a “persistent vegetative state” for 15 years.

4) Catherine McCartney, whose brother was allegedly murdered by the IRA, meets with President Bush on St. Patrick’s Day.

5) President Bush names Paul Wolfowitz to head up the World Bank.

6) Former World-Com CEO Bernard Ebbers is convicted of fraud, becoming the highest-profile executive convicted in relation to the accounting scandals that have rocked the corporate world.
