Celebrity Injustice

It’s been a big week in the world of celebrity justice. Today, the sister of Michael Jackson’s accuser testified at the pop star’s child molestation trial. Also today, the lawyer for Robert Blake made his closing arguments in the actor’s murder trial in Los Angeles. And early tomorrow morning, domestic diva Martha Stewart will be greeted by throngs of TV cameras and well wishers as she ends her 5 month prison sentence.

Former white collar criminal Foster Winans is alarmed by all the media attention that surrounds certain trials. In 1985, he was a writer with the Wall Street Journal when he was convicted for insider trading.

In this radio diary, Winans says media frenzies surrounding criminal trials are an obstruction to justice.
