4) Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld makes a surprise visit to the troops in Iraq. Yesterday, the deadliest attack took place in Baghdad since the Jan 30, 2005 elections.
5) Erik Rudolph pleads guilty to four bombings in the Southeast, including one at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and one at a Birmingham abortion clinic.
6) The White House gives lukewarm support to House Majority Leader Tom Delay after many — including Representative Christopher Shayes from his own party — call for his resignation.
