In a surprising move, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn) said on the Senate floor this morning that he would support a bill to allow federal funding for research on embryonic stem cells. The bill, which passed in the House in May, has been criticized by some abortion opponents and President Bush has said he would veto it.
