Indian Immigrants Reflect

Indian Prime Minister Singh went to Washington, DC today to meet with President Bush.

Their meeting is taking place during a dynamic period for U.S.-India relations, and for Indian immigrants in the U.S. who are reconsidering their roots.

In the past decade, India’s economy has exploded, especially in the Information Technology sector.

Hear from several Indian Americans with different perspectives on their American experience – and their relationship with the India of today.

S. Mitra Kalita, business correspondent, The Washington Post and author of “Suburban Sahibs: Three Immigrant Families and Their Passage from India to America”;
Suketu Mehta, author of “Maximum City — Bombay Lost and Found”;

Gururaj “Desh” Deshpande, co-founder and chairman of the hi-tech company Sycamore Networks. His donations have also made possible MIT’s Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation.;
