July 7th was supposed to be a big day for British writer Chris Cleave. His first novel, “Incendiary” — which centers on a fictional terrorist attack at a British soccer game — was slated to be published that day.
And then to Chris Cleave’s shock and the world’s, the unthinkable happened. On that very same day a real terrorist attack on three London subway trains and a bus killed more than 50, and gave Cleave’s novel a terrible new relevance.
In this radio diary, Chris Cleave reads a passage from his new book, and recalls the emotion he felt when he learned about the July 7th bombings.
