Starting in 2007, Americans will have a full month more of Daylight Savings Time. They will “spring forward” three weeks earlier — in March, not April. They’ll “fall back” a full week into November — not before Halloween.
The change was tucked into the controversial federal Energy Bill passed last month. The story of how it got there is a controversial one itself.
Congressional supporters say they’re looking to save energy. Critics say it’s all about retailers and golf course owners wanting more daylight hours for Americans to shop and play.
