Judge Roberts, Your Answer Is?

By Host Tom Ashbrook:

“I’m just a humble umpire, ready to call balls and strikes. No agenda. Just your servant. The servant of the nation.” That was the message yesterday from Judge John Roberts before eighteen U.S. senators in a hearing room on Capitol Hill.

But Roberts could be an umpire whose calls could change the lives of everyone at the game, could reshape the American stadium.

As the questions begin for the Supreme Court and Chief Justice nominee begin, America’s ears are on the future of civil rights, privacy and abortion, of Congressional powers, and the power of the High Court itself.

Tune in for a review of the calls of John Roberts, national umpire.

Guests:

Patrick Schiltz, professor and founding dean of University of St. Thomas College of Law, who was a clerk for Justice Scalia on the U.S. Supreme Court in 1986

Jonathan Turley, law professor at George Washington University.
