Excerpt from A Novel by Scooter Libby

Lewis “Scooter” Libby, the former Chief of Staff to Vice President Dick Cheney recently indicted on felony charges in the Valerie Plame case, goes back to court in February. In the meantime, people are looking for more clues to the man — a lawyer, foreign policy guru, and a sometime novelist.

In 1996 Libby came out with “The Apprentice,” a steamy brew of murder and bestiality set in Northern Japan. First edition copies of the book are going for over a thousand dollars online. It is deep, stormy winter, and a young innkeeper–the apprentice–has witnessed the murder of a hunter out in the snow storm. When he returns to his inn the apprentice tells nobody about the crime he has witnessed.

Hear a short excerpt from the novel.

Ten Minutes with Brzezinski

Former National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski joined Tom from Washington, D.C. this morning and shared his impressions of President Obama’s first face-to-face meetings with Russia’s leaders.  Brzezinski called it a “sober and realistic summit, one which didn’t create undue expectations, but one which also marked some real progress…. There was, in a sense, an unstated agreement to disagree, and that’s [...]
