After centuries of Confucian strictures and decades of Maoist propriety, the new free-market China also turns out to be, by comparison, the free sex China.

In a nation of a billion-plus men and women, it’s no surprise that sex goes on. But by all accounts, China’s sexual mores are in free flight, as sexuality becomes a primary stage for personal freedom. And up go abortion, divorce and HIV rates, too.
