Conservative black thinker John McWhorter doesn’t care for an awful lot of people who claim to care for black America.
Jesse Jackson comparing the New Orleans convention center to a slave ship does blacks no favor, he says. Neither do rappers 50 Cent or Mos Def, or Kanye West claiming “Bush doesn’t care about black people.”
Neither, says McWhorter, is there salvation in what he calls the “misguided white benevolence” that followed the civil rights movement.
