First-hand Report On Iraq
photo

By host Tom Ashbrook:

There was tough testimony in Washington yesterday on two key fronts of the war in Iraq. First, the insurgency: recent Bush administration comments have suggested the insurgency, while strong, may be ebbing. Newly declassified numbers released to the Senate yesterday suggest otherwise — that the insurgency has steadily grown in capacity in the nearly three years since invasion.

Then, there is the reconstruction front. With 16 billion in US taxpayer dollars already spent, American reconstruction has so far left Iraq’s oil, electricity, water and sewerage sectors all performing below the miserable levels of Saddam Hussein’s last years.

Tune in for a first-hand report from Iraq.

Guests:

James Glanz, correspondent for The New York Times

Borzou Daragahi, Baghdad Correspondent for the Los Angeles Times
