“Failure to Launch” is the Hollywood banner flying over the homefront drama in theaters right now. Young American men, in their 20s and 30s, are still living at home with mom and dad. In the movie version, desperate parents hire a young woman to blast lingering their homeboy out of his childhood bedroom and superman sheets.
In real life, the portion of not-so-very-young men, age 22 to 34, still living at home has doubled in the last couple decades.
For a long time, this was not the American way. Now, it’s common. Some have gone out and come back. Others have never launched.
