Where Are the Dems At?
photo

By host Tom Ashbrook:

For ten years they’ve been in the minority party wilderness. Divided. Mocked. Side-swiped in the 2000 presidential election and whipped in 2004. And now the Democrats are dreaming “comeback.”

In a decade on top, the GOP has driven country into huge deficits, an ugly war, and a spreading swamp of corruption charges. The president’s poll numbers are lousy. Top dog Tom DeLay is headed out. Republicans are feuding over immigration and spending.

The Democrats suddenly look like the party of unity. But can they win again? Do they have the right stuff?

As the GOP struggles, we lift the hood and take a look at the Democrats.

Guests:

Markos Moulitsas, Blogger and founder of DailyKos.com, one of the most influential liberal blogs. He is also author of “Crashing the Gate” ;
Donna Brazile, Democratic strategist and first African-American to run a presidential campaign when she headed Gore-Lieberman in 2000;
David Beattie, Democratic pollster, and President of the research firm Hamilton, Beattie and Staff, the oldest partisan polling firm in the country.
