Iraq Undercover
photo

By host Tom Ashbrook:

“Seize the day, seize the moment,” George Bush told the Iraqi people in Baghdad yesterday. And the president certainly had done just that, slipping away from a Camp David war council and flying secretly into the world’s most violent real estate, hard on the heels of the killing of Musab al Zarqawi and the formation of a new Iraqi government.

“The POTUS is on board!” he yelled to reporters on Air Force One, as in “President of the United States.” Then on to Baghdad and a Buck Rogers Nighthawk flight to the super-defended Green Zone. It was great theater at a moment of rare good news. Now what?

Hear a conversation with Barry Posen, Michael O’Hanlon and General John Batiste about might be next in Iraq.

Guests:

Michael O’Hanlon, Senior Fellow of Foreign Policy at The Brookings Institution

Ret. General John Batiste, commanded the Army’s First Infantry Division in Iraq 2004- 2005, currently president of Klein Steel Services in Rochester, N.Y

Barry Posen, Professor of Political Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
