Hooking Up on Campus
photo

By host Tom Ashbrook:

Maybe every generation has its sexual revolution — for, against, or ambivalent on what is now called “hooking up.”

But one new thing for sure on American college campuses in recent years has been the almost universal emergence of the campus sex columnist. Nearly every college has one now — a student typing away on every new and old wrinkle in the sheets of passion.

Today we’ll hear from three, resident experts on how a 21st century generation — raised on sex-saturated media, the internet and the booty call — are taking on their bodies, themselves, and each other. You may be surprised — or way ahead of the curve.

College sex columnists on love, sex, and relationships in the “hooking-up” era.

Guests:

Amber Madison, author of “Hooking Up: A Girl’s All-Out Guide to Sex and Sexuality” and former Tufts Daily sex columnist

Kate Prengaman, sex columnist of the Flat Hat, the student newspaper of the College of William & Mary

Seth Lake, relationship and sex columnist of Washington State University’s student paper The Daily Evergreen.

Dr. Melinda Myers, psychologist and lecturer on human sexuality at Humboldt State University
